All-Star Brass Bands instrumentation is based on the structure of the traditional British brass band.

The basic structure of each band

Typically, each of the All-Star Brass Bands is comprised of the following instrumentation:

1-2 E flat Soprano Cornets
11-12 B flat Cornets (includes 1 Concertmaster, 1 Repiano Cornet, solo, 2nd and 3rd)
1-2 Flugelhorns
4-5 Alto Horns
2-3 Baritone Horns
3-4 Tenor Trombones
1 Bass Trombone
2-3 Euphoniums
4-6 Tubas
3-4 Percussionists

Approximately 40 students are selected for each band.
